AutoAgent is an open-source framework for autonomous agent harness engineering. I worked with Kevin Gu on a short-term project at Thirdlayer to build a harness that generates and improves agent harnesses. Guided by an instruction file, a coding agent iteratively modifies prompts, tools, and orchestration in a single Python harness, evaluates each change on Harbor benchmark tasks, and keeps improvements while discarding unsuccessful experiments.
